About
Katz and Mark Finch have been hanging out together for more than 30 years, making memories together and recording them on their cameras.
Katz sees things differently, and uses her camera as a tool that lets her share her unique perception with others. When she captures images she likes to create a puzzle for the viewer, who can then have the pleasure of experiencing an "aha!" moment. She prefers to print her images as she found them, with
minimal editing or post-processing. Her goal is to open the awareness of people to the everyday things around them by presenting the ordinary in an extraordinary way. An outgoing and social person, she also does portraits, events, and boudoir photography.
With a background in journalism, printing and publishing, Mark takes a more straightforward approach, presenting viewers with balanced and accurate portrayals of what he sees through his viewfinder. An avid cyclist and hiker, most of his shots are taken outdoors where he is most in his element. Unsurprisingly, most of his photos are of scenery, though he does shoot a lot of bicycles and cars. He also does some product photography, mostly wine related. Sticking to the adage that the best camera is the one you have with you, most of his recent work is done with his iPhone, though he does still enjoy shooting with his arsenal of digital and film cameras.
